“Classy” Jeter Ties Gehrig

Derek Jeter tied Lou Gehrig's all time Yankee hit record, Thursday night.
After going 3-4 last night, with one walk, Derek Jeter was able to get the Lou Gehrig monkey off his back and end his mini-slump as he tied the Yankees all time hit record at 2,721 as The Yanks rallied to beat The Rays 4-2. Derek Jeter is now one hit away from passing The Iron Horse for sole possession of the 72 year old mark. Many were more impressed with Jeter’s class upon tying Gehrig as he admitted, in a post-game interview, that he “didn’t want to disrespect Tampa“. Stay classy, Jeter, stay classy. Derek Jeter’s first opportunity to pass Gehrig will come Friday night against The Baltimore Orioles.
