Top 25 Notes:  Oklahoma dropped 10 spots fro #3 to #13.  A little too much knee jerk if you ask me, but their offensive line problems, which reared their ugly heads against BYU, (12 penalties, most of them illegal procedure penalties by the OU O-line).  The initial preseason ranking of #3 was high to begin with, and with TE Jermaine Gresham out for the season, it doesn’t look like they’ll be getting any closer to that ranking any time soon.

Bradford and the Sooners dropped 10 spots while The BYU Cougars rose 11 spots.

Bradford and the Sooners dropped 10 spots while The BYU Cougars rose 11 spots.

Oklahoma State continues to ride all that preseason hype as they rose 4 spots to #5 following a sloppy victory at home against a Georgia team with less talent than the Bulldog team that disappointed last year.  Look for this team to be ‘shocked’ some time in the next couple weeks.

BYU enjoyed the biggest jump as they leaped 11 spots from #20 to #9.  I like this BYU team, but there is no way they should be ahead of an LSU team (that stayed put at #11) that traveled 2,600 miles and beat a game Washington team on the road in a victory that would have been by double digits had it not been for a late Washington score.  I realize that non-BCS teams are starting to make noise on the big stage and I realize that the Mountain West may very well be a top 5 conference in all of college football, but let’s get real, here:  The Mountain West aint the SEC

Miami, Cincinnati, and Mizzou cracked the top 25 for the first time this season.  All three teams looked impressive as they pulled out road victories against name-brand teams.
