If you guessed The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, you were correct!  Although The Atlanta Braves could have been accepted as well because we are starting to have a tough time telling the difference.  The Anaheim Angels are beginning to look a lot like The Atlanta Braves of the New Millennium.  Just look at their track record in October this decade:

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Playoff Results (2002-2008)

2002:  AL West Division Champions; World Series Champions

2004:  AL West Division Champions; Eliminated in ALDS, 3-0 (Red Sox)

2005: AL West Division Champions; Eliminated in ALCS, 4-1 (White Sox)

2007: AL West Division Chamions;  Eliminated in ALDS, 3-0 (Red Sox)

2008: AL West Division Champions; Eliminated in ALDS, 3-1 (Red Sox)

We’re starting to notice a trend here.  The Angels’ World Series Win against the Giants in 2002, where The Angels were beneficiaries of a MASSIVE Giants Game 6 chokejob, looks to be the exception that proves the rule.  The rule being that The Angels just can’t win in October, especially against The Red Sox who it looks like they’ll be eliminated by playing for the third straight year and the 4th time in 5 years.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have won 1 world Series title in 5 trips to the playoffs this decade.

If these were the New York Angels of Brooklyn, or The Massachussets Angels of Boston, or even The Washington Angels of Maryland the ‘Fire Scioscia’ bandwagon would be more crowded than The infamous ‘Party Pass’ section at the new Cowboys Stadium.  However, expect that bandwagon to possibly cue up in Anaheim should the Halos post yet another dissapointing showing in The playoffs.
