College Football Crapshoot: Duck and Cover
__________________________________________________________________________College Football |
As bloodthirsty College Football fans grow hungrier for upsets, they may be treated to a full slate of them this Saturday as the ‘underdog’ competition rises. Time is starting to run out as the USC’s and Texas’ of the world await the eventual fall of either Florida, Alabama or both. By the way, who in the hell is going to win the Heisman this year?
HERE’S WHAT I KNOW IS GOING TO HAPPEN:
I KNOW that #13VA Tech will get back on track with a win vs. North Carolina. Frank Beamer teams play special teams very well, they always seem to lose one more game than they are supposed to, and they never give up. I don’t know about that -16.5, but they should be good for the win at home.
I KNOW that Arizona St will beat #24Cal at home. The Sundevils have done next to nothing this season. This will be their first chance to show the world they are a solid football squad against a competitive Cal team looking continue its momentum. This is a big game, for Arizona St, and I’m taking The Devils at home.
HERE’S WHAT I THINK IS GOING TO HAPPEN
I THINK #1Florida (-15) covers vs. Georgia. Florida looked very impressive in a dangerous spot at Mississippi State despite two pick 6′s. Mark Richt and The Bulldogs may be one more blowout loss away from ‘playing dead’ (ya like that?) for the rest of the season, and I’m guessing this will be it.
I THINK Oregon State (-15) covers vs UCLA. The Beavers did not surprise me in taking the fight to USC as their coach Mike Riley is a former USC assistant. I like this Beaver team and I don’t see The Bruins will being able to stop Quizz Rodgers. State rolls. I think.
HERE’S WHAT I’M PROBABLY WRONG ABOUT
I’m Probably WRONG, but #5USC will beat #10Oregon. USC in a big spot on prime time television on the road in a game they have to have just spells a W for the Trojans. This is a scary spot for USC, but if they win they put themselves in the best possible position to usurp a spot in the championship picture and Pete Carroll knows that.

The Ducks look to earn their staple win against The Trojans this weekend. They won't.
I’m Probably WRONG, but #22South Carolina (+6) will cover at Tennessee. After hanging with ‘Bama and handing The Tide a win last week, Tennessee may enter Saturday’s matchup with The Gamecocks with a bit more value than they’re supposed to have. South Carolina has that ability to come out of nowhere and deliver impressive performances and this should be no exception.
