Is Virginia Tech the best team in College Football?

Forget all this ‘best one-loss team’ stuff, it may be time to start including Virginia Tech in the discussion of the best in College Football.  Ever since a tough loss to Alabama in week 1, Virginia Tech has rolled.  Tech is the only team thus far to have stopped Jacory Harris, and their quarterback, Tyrod Taylor, is proving to be more of a Heisman candidate as the season progresses.  After a blowout win over Boston College, maybe, just maybe, it’s time to take The Hokies seriously as a national championship contender.

VA Tech has played a relatively tough schedule thus far, playing 3 ranked teams, two of whom are in the top 10, however their schedule softens up down the stretch.  After a tough game at #22Georgia Tech, The Hokies do not play a single team currently ranked in the top 25.  However, if Virginia Tech can run the table, if nothing else they would have a legitimate argument as to why they belong in The BCS National Title Game.

The Hokies have played like a BCS Championship Contender since their week 1 loss to 'Bama.

It will be difficult to convince voters why The Hokies belong in the national title game over a one-loss SEC team, or even a one-loss USC team (who plays a better schedule), but keep an eye on The Virginia Tech Hokies as they attempt to mach down the second half of their schedule unblemished.  We’ve been lukewarm on this team throughout the season but they continue to prove us wrong.

We like The Hokies to represent The ACC in The Orange Bowl.  Don’t worry Hurricane Fans, we like your Canes to play Ohio State in The Fiesta Bowl.
