The Big Nasty Athletic Dept.’s 2009 MLB Playoff Predictions : Can The Phillies ACTUALLY Repeat?

Yankees over Twins in 5. The Twins are hot, The Twins are scary, The Twins have Joe Mauer, but The Yankees just have too much talent to lose. We know it’s been said before, but THIS talent is more expensive and the only way they lose this series is if their pitching implodes…oh dear lord.
Red Sox over Angels in 4. It would be a great story if The Angels won this series and then went on to win The World Series in honor of Nick Adenhart, but we refuse to pick The Halos against The Sox in the playoffs until The Halos beat the Sox in the playoffs.
NLDS:
Cardinals over Dodgers in 3. Manny picked the wrong time to fall into a slump. The Cardinals have a rotation designed to go deep into the playoffs.
Phillies over the Rockies in 5. The Rockies enter the playoffs pretty hot. Any dreams of a Phillies repeat could be crushed by the Rockies this round but we don’t see it.

ALCS
Yankees over Red Sox in 6. As long as The Yankees don’t see the Angels in the Playoffs, we like them to only lose to until they see The Phillies.
NLCS
Phillies over Cardinals in 7. This should be the best series in the playoffs from a non-hype perspective.
