College Football Crapshoot: Is The SEC Title Game On Yet?

__________________________________________________________________________

As a somewhat flat second half of The College Football season winds down, we begin to look forward to what could be.  USC won’t be in the Rose Bowl for the first time in 5 years,  and The SEC title game has already been decided with Texas evidently earning a shot at the winner for The National Championship.  Ohio State is going to Michigan with its Buckeye fingerprints already on the Big 10 trophy as The Buckeyes  earned their trip to The Rose bowl last week against Iowa.  So, remind me, why are they still playing games?

HERE’S WHAT I KNOW WILL HAPPEN

I KNOW Wyoming (+31.5) will cover vs. TCU. The Horned frogs are getting ever so close to being the team with the right to complain about not being selected to the BCS Championship game and their 3rd road game in 5 weeks is a stumbling block that the frogs could definitely trip over.

I KNOW Houston will rebound at home against Memphis. After a small school that is a non-traditional power sees its BCS dreams go up in smoke, it tends to be ripe for a loss to just about anyone.  This won’t be the Case for Keenum and a potent Cougars offense.  Besides, Memphis is BLECH!

HERE’S WHAT I THINK IS GOING TO HAPPEN

I THINK Micihgan (+12.5) covers vs. Ohio State. Jim Tressell will have another ‘big game practice game’ on his road to what will be a pivotal Rose Bowl for The Ohio State program (even if they DO play Stanford or Arizona).  Michigan has lost 6 straight games in Big-10 play and will love nothing more than to get off the Schnide by refusing ‘State of a Big 10 title outright.  I think.

I THINK Florida will NOT look ahead. Florida plays a sorry FlT team, but with the SEC title game in its near future there’s a good chance that they could be distracted.  However I have a feeling that even if they were distracted they would still roll over Florida International.  Florida (-45) covers.  I think.

The Florida Gators will need to avoid distractions, Saturday.

HERE’S WHAT I’M PROBABLY WRONG ABOUT

I’m Probably WRONG but Alabama will NOT look ahead. See above.  Something about ‘Bama scares me, but they should have no problem beating up on Chattanooga.

I’m Probably WRONG but Kasas (+27.5) will cover in the face of adversity. Mangino has been getting some serious heat for being a big fat meanie, but I like this Kansas Team to take it to Texas until the final bell as public distractions somehow always favor the underdog.
