SpreadSHREDDER Statistics

SpreadSHREDDER Week 12 ATS: 1-3

SpreadSHREDDER Overall ATS: 21-16-1

SpreadSHREDDER Overall vs. The Total: 2-1-1

With a rare hiccup by The SpreadSHREDDER last week, there’s nothing much to say except…

Pittsburgh (-14.5) over Oakland

The last time we saw The Steelers they lost a close game on national television and then had to answer questions about quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s toughness.  Good.  With Pittsburgh’s value now in ‘bang for your buck’ territory after 3 straight losses (with two of them coming on the road where the home team wins 6 out of 10 times), The Steelers will host The Oakland Raiders as The Raiders make the 2nd of two back-to-back westcoast to eastcoast trips.  To make matters worse, The Raiders will be battling a negative body clock as the start time for this game is 3 hours earlier than their typical start time.

President Obama isn't selling his Steelers stock, and neither should you.

President Obama isn't selling his Steelers stock, and neither should you.

With The Steelers at home making the ‘switch’ to Ben Roethlisberger at quarterback, Pittsburgh’s proficient passing game, a passing game well above the league median in yards per game, should help give the Steelers an early lead that will quickly grow as the game progresses.  Oakland will find it very difficult to hang around with a run-first offense built primarily for low-scoring affairs.  PITTSBURGH, 31-3.

Chicago (-9) over St. Louis

A wise man once said that when it comes to the point spread you have to “buy when the public is selling, and sell when the public is buying.”  To say that The Bears’ stock is for sale by owner would be an understatement, however smart investors should buy The Bears this week.  No, seriously!

The Bears will be playing the Rams at home with Chicago coming off of a series of losses influenced by turnovers.  Chicago’s coach Lovie Smith was the defensive coordinator for The Rams before coming to The Bears in 2004 and bringing, former Bears’ Linebackers Coach, Bob Babich with him.

A desperate Chicago team with a passing identity will be playing in the windy confines of Soldier Field against an indoor team in The St. Louis Rams that will be unable to exploit Chicago’s holes in the secondary.  St. Louis also averages 9 points below The NFL League Median per game.  YOU do the math.  CHICAGO, 26-9.

Atlanta (+5.5) over Philadelphia

Las Vegas wants you to believe that the potential absence of both Atlanta QB Matt Ryan and RB Michael Turner puts The Falcons at an extreme disadvantage at home against The Eagles.  It doesn’t.  In fact, as you may already know, a quarterback switch for the home underdog is always a recipe for an upset.

The Falcons will be making the switch to veteran QB Chris Redman, who should do more than enough to keep the ship afloat for Atlanta.  A talented Atlanta offensive line should produce a strong running game whether Michael Turner or Jason Snelling (who rushed for almost 4.0 yards per carry last week) is back there.  Long story short, The Falcons are getting hosed this week, and 76% of America is going for it.  Take the points, run with them, and don’t look back!  ATLANTA, 24-20.
