Drew Brees: Hey Kurt! (Warner)…dude, is that a GUN?!

Kurt Warner: Yeah, my agent told me to bring it for some LAME idea for a photo shoot we were gonna do where me and you pull actual loaded guns on one another to build up the potential for a shootout when we play each other this weekend.

Drew Brees: My agents said nothing of the kind.  In fact, I’m here trying to get a job as a postseason analyst if our season ends this weekend.  Coach Payton is in there interviewing as we speak.

Kurt Warner: How confident.

Drew Brees: Coach says to always have a backup plan, that’s why we have Mark Brunell.

Kurt Warner: Indeed.

Drew Brees: Dude stop waving that gun around.  You’re making me and my Andy Kaufman face nervous.

Kurt Warner: You DO kind of look like Andy Kaufman.

Drew Brees: Indeed.

Kurt Warner: I can see why you’re so nervous about this weekend’s game.  I’ve won 8 times as many playoff games as you have, and Big Nasty said you guys were gonna implode in the playoffs a month ago.

Drew Brees: Big Nasty is a douchebag punk.

Kurt Warner:

Drew Brees:

Kurt Warner: Indeed.

The Saints and Cardinals have every reason be playing against the highest wagering total of this weekend (currently at 56.5 on sportsbook.com).  After The Cardinals went over 50 by themselves last week, and after The Saints lead the league in scoring offense for the season, bettors will be trampling babies taking their over tickets to the table with the blind fervor only witnessed on the dog-eat-dog floors of Wall Street.

Drew Brees, and his Andy Kaufman face, may not be in the playoffs for much longer.

The public obviously loves this one to go over.  And while keeping in mind that these two teams were a combined 12-20 against the wagering total for the season, we agree.

Cardinals 37, Saints 29

  • Look for Kurt Warner (8-3 in the playoffs) to continue his playoff surge.
  • Look for Beanie Wells to explode against a Saints running defense that was never really that good to begin with.  It was just hard to tell as teams were forced to keep up in a shootout most of the time.
  • Look for The Saints to suck early and play ketchup all game long.
  • Look for Reggie Bush to get involved, scoring multiple touchdowns.
