NFL Quarterly Report: Final Quarter, Playoff Edition

The NFL Playoffs are here, which means this quarterly report will be the most important quarterly report of the NFL fiscal year.  Our investor analysis has once again weeded out the profitable from the non-profitable among The NFL Playoff teams to give you a better indication of who could compete for the always-lucrative Superbowl.

Who Has Peaked? Their best days are behind them.  The time where you could have made the most out of this stock has come and gone.  Potential has been fully realized.  You should consider selling if you still can.

Who’s Peaking? Team is playing its best football.  These are of the most valuable of stocks as playing your best football at the right time is pertinent in a Superbowl victory.  Now, is ‘the right time’.

In The Black: Profitable, under the radar, playing within themselves, a great investment for your money.

Don’t Sell this Stock Just Yet: Not moving any units but there’s potential.  They haven’t peaked yet (most of them haven’t come close) but should they peak at the right time, look the hell out.

See what you can get for ‘em: SELL! SELL! SELL! SELL!  Does it sound like I’m on Wall Street, yet?  SELL! SELL! SELL!  You get it.

Who Has Peaked?

The Indianapolis Colts. The Colts recently began to follow an alarming trend of resting their players weeks before the playoffs begin.  This trend has resulted in disappointing results in years past, and this team looks primed for another playoff implosion.  The value of this stock has fallen apart faster than Gilbert Arenas’ contract.  Those who don’t pay attention to history are doomed to repeat it.  The Colts are sticking to the same stratagey that has done them in time and time again.  This year should be no exception.

Whos stock should you buy come the NFL Playoffs?

Whos stock should you buy come the NFL Playoffs?

The New Orleans Saints. It was fun while it lasted but this stock has taken a nosedive and its only saving grace is the fact that The Saints’ recent freefall, where they have received similar criticisms for resting players, may be saved by the fact that recent criticisms of Who Dat have taken on a life of its own.  The recent doubting of what once was known as the #1 team in the power ranking (we told you power rankings were bullshit) could cause team to band together come playoff time.  But don’t count on it.  They’ve been overvalued for weeks now and The Saints’ bubble has finally busted.

Minnesota Vikings.  Don’t be fooled by their most recent win over a Giants Team that was on the bus by halftime.  This Vikings team can be had.  Jared Allen’s stats have suddenly fallen off now that he’s playing teams who don’t use makeshift offensive lines (imagine that), and Brett Favre’s history in the playoffs during the second half of his career indicate that he may be primed for yet another playoff exit after being an early superbowl favorite…possibly to The Packers.

The Cincinnati Bengals. This team never really seemed to get it going despite winning what was a weaker AFC North.  The Bengals have lost three of their last four games, and has been overvalued by Vegas all season as they have failed to win a singe game where they were favored by double-digits.  Carson Palmer has been hobbled all season and his passing stats have been in the garbage.  Do not buy a single stock in The Cincinnati Bengals Franchise, even if they win a playoff game.

Who’s Peaking?

The San Diego Chargers. This team has historically overachieved in the playoffs, and with the best team in the NFL in our eyes, The San Diego Chargers are primed for a Superbowl run.  The Chargers have not lost since the month of October, and with the media not sticking their dirty hands in this team’s cookie jar by largely refusing to give them credit of any sort, it only helps the cause.

The Green Bay Packers. The Packers have also quietly put together a nice string of wins after struggling with offensive line issues.  With the running game picking up, and a team built to run indoors (where all of the NFC playoff games will likely be played), The Packers are a prime darkhorse to make a deep playoff run.

The Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys will battle the all-too-familiar questions of not being able to win in the playoffs, but this has been their best December in possibly a decade.  If Wade Phillips is good for anything it’s defense, and his positive influence on Big D’s D has our investors advising you to (cautiously) buy stock in Jerry Jones Inc.

The New York Jets. Don’t get too excited about these guys, but it’s worth mentioning that they are the first team in NFL history to go from ‘peaked’ to ‘peaking’ in one of our quarterly reports.  This is a nice little penny stock that could make you a lot of money going forward, but buyer beware.

In The Black

The Arizona Cardinals. A meaningless loss at home this weekend is a bit alarming, causing many to doubt whether Arizona could do anything in this year’s playoffs.  However this is the same position this team found itself in last year prior to an improbable Superbowl run.

The Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are a proud franchise that has never lost in the first round in The NFL Playoffs under Andy Reid.  After being blown out, they go back to the scene of the crime to play a Dallas team that hasn’t won a playoff game in a decade and is 0-2 under in The Playoffs under coach Wade Phillips.  YOU do the math.

Don’t Sell This Stock Just Yet

The New England Patriots.  No team rebound from injury and plays in the eye of the storm better than The New England Patriots.  The loss of Wes Welker has hurt The Patriots’ value, however with a serviceable Julian Edelman, a veteran quarterback, coach, and team with playoff experience, The Patriots could go farther than anyone thinks.

See What You Can Get For

The Baltimore Ravens. Too many penalties, too inconsistent, and a team that we pegged as extremely overvalued to begin the season.  Don’t waste your time with The Ravens this year.
