Gorilla Press Scouting Report: Michael Tarver
__________________________________________________________________________
The WWE’s immense growth has given way to developmental relationships with Florida Championship Wrestling (as well as a handful of next generation superstars to star in WWE NXT), and with the Youtube Age we are able to efficiently scout up-and-coming talent before they make their debut on the big stage. Before you see them get buried or pushed at the next level, you will have the rare opportunity to get an in-depth breakdown of the superstars of tomorrow today. Talent will be evaluated on a five-star scale in 4 categories: Overall Rating, Physique, Charisma, and In-Ring Work. Overall Rating: *** Physique: ***1/2 Charisma: ** In-Ring Work: **1/2 Strengths: Unique style that could translate into big dollars for Vince. Weaknesses: Nothing special in the ring, lacks charisma. Similar Styles: Marc Mero, Monty Brown Signature Moves: Knockout punch, Modified Powerslam Headline Potential: Midcard Scouting Report: If Vince McMahon is finally able to implicitly acknowledge the growing popularity of Mixed Martial Arts (outside of that dreadful right hand the Big Show throws every week), then he may have something with knockout specialist Michael Tarver. As a former boxer, Tarver brings an art that is relatively unique to the WWE. His kill shot, a superman punch that can come from anywhere, is a perfect finisher that can add a new element to matches with the former boxer. Tarver’s promos were not bad, however we did notice that he is quite dry overall and lacks the charisma usually seen in top-notch talent. Tarver’s in-ring work is nothing to write home about at the time, but he seems like a great athlete who could adapt to the many nuances of professional wrestling over time. Tarver’s size mixed with his boxing skill could make him a perfect candidate to be booked against jobbers for his first few matches as he knocks out local hopefulls unmercifully as The WWE Universe takes notice. Tarver (Tyrone Evans) will be paired with Carlito in the upcoming WWE NXT show. The pairing should polish Tarver’s work in the ring as Carlito is a good hand to have around when he’s focused.
