The Gorilla Press Previews TNA Against All Odds
__________________________________________________________________________TNA Against All Odds will feature the introduction of a rankings system by conducting yet another tournament to be held throughout the pay-per-view (sorry Robert Roode). We also get to see what should be a great match between Samoa Joe and A.J. Stles as well as a brutal brawling extravaganza between Team 3D and The Nasty Boys.
A.J. Styles over Samoa Joe The elephant in the room tells is that A.J. Styles is THE guy that the Hogan administration wants to see flourish under their tutelage. Samoa Joe, while he’s been great on the mic for the 2 weeks he was used to build this feud is one of what should be many tests for A.J. To see if The future blonde Phenomenal One can take his game to the next level.
Team 3D vs The Nasty Boys. Winner? Nobody. Knobs gets blown up on his way to the ring and the other guy (Skaggs, right? I can’t remember, its been so long since I’ve seen The Nasty Boys on a consistent basis) gets fed to the wolves. America has the television clicked over to The NBA All Star game throughout the duration of this match, so there really is no winner other than The NBA.
TNA 8 Card Stud Tournament
The Pope vs. Desmond Wolfe
Hernandez vs. Matt Morgan
(Winners meet in Semi-Finals)
Abyss vs. Mick Foley
Mr. Anderson vs. Kurt Angle
(Winners meet in Semi-Finals)
FINALS: Winner of Bracket 1 vs. Winner of Bracket 2
The Pope over Desmond Wolfe The Pope definitely looks to be one of the wrestlers who will be getting ‘the rocket’ stuffed in his butt under the Hogan/Bischoff regime as evidenced by his clean win over Heavyweight Champion A.J. Styles 2 weeks ago. Pope’s momentum should carry on with a strong performance in TNA’s version of March Madness.
Matt Morgan over Hernandez After a strong showing in a losing effort against Kurt Angle at Bound for Glory, Matt Morgan’s singles push was inexplicably cancelled in favor of a tag team push with fellow star-in-waiting Hernandez. Matt Morgan’s singles push should resume with a win over Hernandez that could start a premature feud between the current tag champs.
Abyss over Mick Foley Chael Sonnen Mick Foley will engage in the typical hardcore brawl with Nate Marquardt Abyss that is sure to end unfavorably for Mick Foley as he will be unable to pull the final trigger and inflict harm on his monster friend.
Kurt Angle over Mr. Anderson Kurt Angle is the Against All Odds on favorite to win this thing, which leads me to believe that a swerve is likely going to disrupt what otherwise would make sense. We’re goin with Kurt here, but don’t hold your breath.
Matt Morgan over The PopeThe Pope should look good in a losing effort to the immensely larger Matt Morgan, but we just don’t see how a rollup victory over Morgan (which is the only way we see Pope going over Morgan) would be believable.
Kurt Angle over Abyss After a 6th steel chair to the skull, Angle should reign victorious when Abyss loses conscious while trapped in an ankle lock and lying in a pool of his own blood.
Kurt Angle over Matt MorganThis Bound for Glory rematch should not disappoint, yet it should produce the same result that we saw from their showdown back in October.
Winner of The 8 Card Stud Tournament: Kurt Angle
