Scouting Report: While The WWE may be reluctantly launching the career of Daniel Bryan by protecting him in every one of his losses, by making him look strong in losing efforts, the powers that be are making no bones about pushing the neatly packeged superstar David Otunga to the top.
David Otunga is already a WWE Superstar, you just don’t know it yet. Any limitations he has will go away with time and this athletic big man is ready to explode on to the main event scene whether you like it or not. We all know how hard the McMahons are for mainstream appeal, and the fact that Otunga’s poo makes Us Magazine Headlines doesn’t hurt one bit.
Many purists will crow that Otunga’s ring work is not up to snuff, but the one Achilles heel in every purist in any walk of life is that he or she is always inclined to reject concepts that are overwhelmingly successful. Mark my words: as long as David Otunga decides he likes wrestling more than acting, David Otunga will be overwhelmingly successful.
