Scouting Report: Alex Riley has all the makings for the next top superstar in the WWE. Riley’s impressive build (6-4, 251 lbs.) is matched by his athletic abilities in the ring.
Riley has been in WWE Developmental for the better part of two years, and has had the chance to hone his talents to become more of a complete wrestler.
Riley’s notable FCW programs include a run with the charismatic Abraham Washington, as part of Washington’s Cabinet, and a pairing with mic specialist Wade Barrett. Riley’s time with both Barrett and Washington seemed to have helped him develop as a heel.
Alex Riley currently reigns as the FCW Heavyweight Champion. Riley defeated current WWE NXT superstar Justin Gabriel to earn the developmental crown. As FCW Heavyweight champion, Riley now follows in the footsteps of WWE Superstars Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. Both Sheamus and McIntyre are recent FCW Champions who have subsequently been featured in high profile feuds on WWE TV.
It seems like only a matter of time before we see Alex Riley as player in the rising crop of young talent the WWE intends to push as it transitions into the next generation.
