NFL SpreadSHREDDER, Week 11: When Talent Strikes (Out of Nowhere)
__________________________________________________________________________Week 10 Record vs. Wagering Total: 0-1
Overall Record ATS: 16-13-1
Overall Record vs. Wagering Total: 0-1
Last week saw some easy money cash in the SpreadSHREDDER best bet, yet the Broncos continue their inflation against the wagering total. This week’s board is a tough nut to crack, but we’re pretty sure we’ve Da Vincied the hell out of it.
OAKLAND (+7.5) OVER PITTSBURGH {Sportsbook.com}
The two best kept secrets currently in the NFL are A. The deceptively ‘hard nosed’ Pittsburgh Steelers have zero pass defense and B. The Raiders can throw the ball.
Coming off of a bye week against a vulnerable Steeler team who has been a bad favorite as of late, the Oakland Raiders should give Pittsburgh all they can handle with an underrated receiving corps ripe with emerging stars in Louis Murphy, Jacoby Ford, and Darrius Heyward-Bey. It won’t help that the Pittsburgh Steelers have a pass defense ranked 26th in the league (shhhh!).
The Oakland Raiders have been one of the best value picks as an underdog for quite some time now, and the books still seem to refuse to give them respect despite overachieving (to this point) and having two weeks to prepare for a big game that carries playoff implications.
Injuries are overrated when it comes to ATS betting unless said injuries dramatically affect an offensive or defense line as is the case with Pittsburgh and the makeshift O-line they will limp onto the field with this Sunday.
We didn’t buy the Steelers stock to start the season, and although they’ve exceeded our own expectations, expect the Raiders to fight Pittsburgh for the entire game, and possibly pulling off what ESPN will tell you is a shocking upset. OAKLAND, 28-14.
SAN DIEGO VS. DENVER, UNDER 50.5 {Sportsbook.com}
Philip Rivers and Kyle Orton getting together makes the books wet with excitement expecting a shootout, but never forget that the Chargers will boast a top-5 defense coming off of a bye week that will intercept the Broncos coming off of an emotional victory against a divisional opponent.
Expect most of the scoring to come from the Chargers, who now have no room for error yet almost never lose in November, as San Diego hits on all cylinders (except special teams) against a Broncos team that has been playing over 10 points to the over this season (that bubble is bound to pop immediately). SAN DIEGO, 26-14.
NEW YORK AT PHILADELPHIA, UNDER 48.5 {Sportsbook.com}
Michael Vick’s lights out performance on national television has inspired delusion among the mass media. As a side effect, the Giants, coming off of an embarrassing home loss to what appeared to be a listless Cowboy team, are expected to be part of a shootout with the Eagles.
With the Giants more motivated to correct trivial mistakes such as penalties and (some) turnovers, expect a talented Giants defense to take the field this Sunday and force Michael Vick into the dogfight slugfest he doesn’t want.
The Eagles have been playing 8 points to the over thus far, which can easily be considered inflated when taking into account that the average team historically plays no more or less than 4 points over or under the wagering total.
The Eagles will not match nor even mimic their once-in-a-lifetime performance against a more stable organization and talented defense desperate to redeem itself on national television. NEW YORK GIANTS, 24-10.
