NFL Championship SpreadSHREDDER: Rivalries and Revelry

The General consensus is poised to screw our beloved Packers out of a Super Bowl berth as the chip on the Bears’ shoulder grows bigger with Chicago as a home underdog. Meanwhile, in Pittsburgh, the Jets and Steelers tilt is virtually a coin toss. Or is it?
PITTSBURGH (-3.5) OVER NEW YORK JETS {SBGGlobal.com}
We have the Steelers as 6.5 point favorites at Heinz Field in our power ratings as they seek revenge against a Jets team that beat them late in the regular season. Ben Roethlisberger has found success against Rex Ryan coached teams, losing just once in five games against Ryan, and a returning Troy Polamalu will be the difference in this Jets/Steelers rematch.
With Tom Brady suddenly playing his way out of the playoff hero role, Ben Roethlisberger is the best playoff quarterback in the NFL today. With the Steelers likely to shut down the Jets’ running game, Mark Sanchez will find it difficult to have consistent success against a top five defense that puts immense pressure on the quarterback. PITTSBURGH, 23-13
GREEN BAY (-3) OVER CHICAGO {SBGGlobal.com}
Even though the public is blowing the Packers on the strength of strong quarterback play by Aaron Rodgers, the Bears have been one of the most inflated teams in the NFL even through their resilience following an ugly nationally televised loss to the New York Giants. Jay Cutler was sacked six times in the Bears’ last loss to the Packers, and Chicago’s game winning drive against the Packers earlier this season in Soldier Field was heavily aided by Packer penalties.
With the Packers committing less penalties, and Jay Cutler likely to see pressure all day, turnovers will be the difference in a game that will be much closer than many will think. Chicago’s lackluster point differential throughout the regular season and, their rather weak schedule compared to that of the Packers, gives Green Bay value.
The Packers have been in playoff mode since week 16, and will be playing their sixth straight team with a winning record (they’re currently 4-1 during this stretch). The Bears came off of a bye week to play an inept Seahawk team that is statistically one of the worst playoff teams of all time. I picked the Packers to go to the Super Bowl, and although I (correctly) flip flopped on Pittsburgh, Chicago’s season long inflation (great depression, anyone?) is too high to convince me to follow suit. GREEN BAY, 20-14
