CLIP NASTY: TNA Does What WWE May or May Not Have Tried to Do
__________________________________________________________________________TNA fired a moderately successful counter punch to WWE for the first time in quite some time. Hailing this past week’s Impact as a show packing the biggest surprise of the year, TNA surely didn’t disappoint (for their standards) as it aired a 3/3/11 vignette towards the end of the show, similar to WWE’s 2/21/11 vignettes that sparked assumptions and hysteria that Sting would finally be coming to WWE.
Make no mistake about it, this is not TNA copying WWE, but rather the second-rate promotion is mocking WWE for failing do deliver on a rumored coup that would have lead to Vince McMahon officially being recognized as the omnipotent Emperor of wrestling who has ruled over every big name the past few generations had to offer. Sadly, for him, Sting still remains as one of the very few wrestlers who never ever set foot in any reincarnation WWE.
With Booker T and Kevin Nash defecting for WWE last month, opting instead to hit the ring at the 2011 Royal Rumble and in Booker T’s case do color commentary (poorly), it’s nice to see the little guy score a moral victory – Although let’s not get all bloggy and emotional about such a feel good moment for a non-mainstream entity. That’s so Gawker.
