Impact! Tonight: TNA to pay Extras to Stand in as ‘They’

TNA learned the hard way why you don’t write storylines three weeks in advance before signing the key principles to be involved in said storylines as they watched helplessly as Booker T and Kevin Nash (who were rumored to be headed to TNA to reform the Main Event Mafia as yet another ‘They’ storyline) appeared in WWE as surprised entrants in the Royal Rumble match.
With the ‘They’ storyline in shambles, I’m giddy to watch TNA tonight just to see what TNA threw together at the last second (because I don’t read spoilers). Perhaps Hogan brought in his cronies, so ‘They’ will be the Nasty Boys, Brutus Beefcake, and Randy Savage out to get revenge on Hogan and his ‘politicking ways’. Because this is a shoot, brother!
TNA has been given every reason to entrust their loyal, young, foundation as the older, bigger stars have gotten in trouble with the law (Hall), left them high and dry (Nash, Booker), and failed to move the needle as far as ratings are concerned. Yet TNA continues to rely on talent out of their prime instead of creating an identity by finding a niche with the unestablished, yet talented, individuals who have been under contract with them for years.
