Philip Rivers Fantasy Football
Philip Rivers’ enthused reaction after being drafted by Big Nasty

I just completed my third of three fantasy football draft in four days, creating the possibility of three fantasy championships, and 365 days of my collegues and dear friends never hearing the end of it.  My teams all pretty much look similar (which is somewhat by design), and my starting lineup, in an 8-team league goes something like this:

QB Philip Rivers. an inch less than 4,000 yards would be a vast disappointments

RB Knowshon Moreno. I traditionally draft RB’s late due to the high turnover at the top.  Jim Fox’s running philosophy attracted me to him in the middle of the draft more than Willis Mcgahee’s goal line influence.

RB DeAngelo Williams.  Another late round pick.  Sure there’s the Jonathan Stewart situation, but I figured Carolina will want to get their money’s worth out of Williams.

WR Calvin Johnson. In this day and age of fantasy football, elite wide receivers > elite runningbacks

WR Mike Wallace. See above.

WR Desean Jackson. See above.

TE Jermichael Finley.  If he’s healthy, he’s unguardable.

Q/W/R/T Josh Freeman. I’m loving his sleeper potential, and I got him late.

K Jason Hanson.  The Lions of now will be the Rams of the 2000′s.  Jason Hanson stands to be one of many beneficiaries.

Def New Orleans Saints.  This is a top five defense in terms of the run and the past.  It astounded me how people still consider them a finesse team.
